Changing skin again

I changed the skin for my wordpress blog again. One of the short coming of not having your own host for the blog is that you have limited choices of the blog skin. Kyotos has commented the previous skin I used is too corporate look-a-like which i totally agree. The new skin is not any way better in the sense of representing my personality, but I think the white background make it much easier to read my blogs.

=====

I had a really good weekend last week, met up with friends, did some shopping, try out a new sushi bar in my favourite place, playing with my niece, had a family gathering and without having to touch any of my work! So Monday was a dreadful day for me to pull myself back to work…Anyhow, is Wednesday night already, and I will be on leave this Friday…so guess i can call an end to the work for this week soon…

Saw a nice photo blog that Kyotos forwarded to me, and I realise I have not been shooting any nice photo recently, argh… sigh such a blunt life.

Working from home?

May 25, 2007 youknowwho 1 comment

Working from home – more and more of us are doing it.
Many love it, some hate it but either way it’s certainly a part of today’s working life.

This is the headline of the silicon newsletter today in line with the National Working from Home day earlier this month. Suddenly this become a hot topic that everyone is talking about. I just read from the newspaper that SOHO can even be define as some one that is working in big MNC, but due to job nature, may work from home at certain time.

Undeniable, working from home give you the flexibility, but on the other hand it might means longer working hours, because the boundary becomes obscure now. When is the line between work and home? In the past few weeks, I am getting more involved in meetings with the customers, vendors, potential partners, that I also become part of the SOHO group as meeting places are likely to be in down town or some places that is nearer to my home. But I noticed that I also work longer hours nowadays, after a full day meetings, you still need to clear out your company emails, see if there is anything that need your actions. Of course, there are the preparation work and follow up work for each of the meeting.

So, if you have meetings in a row, everyday, you basically trying to catch the breath running around while handling daily operation stuff in the office. The other day, a friend was asking me, you seem to be really busy recently, what time did you get back home on the weekday? My answer was:”It is not a matter of what time I get home, even i return home earlier straight after customer meeting, I still need to work from home till late hours.”

Do I like working from home? I think I still prefer the convention way of having the office environment, with colleagues surrounding me…and when it is time to go home, you know that you can call it a day…

Life is like a rose with thorns

I spend a great weekend in Singapore, was there for the Phatom of Opera, but also took up the chances to visit my uncle and family and meeting up one of my best pal and the other uni-mate. Is definitely a relaxing weekend with great food, great fun, great musics.

However, today I am back to the reality world. With much works on hand, a bad news to taken care of, the happy moments that I just had seem like a dream for me. Life is still beautiful, but sometimes it is a bit painful to handle the thorns on it. I still have faith in life, but sometimes I do wonder why does thing has to happen in this way?

The Phantom of Opera

I booked the ticket one month ago, this a show that I anticipated so much. Before the actual day, I heard many comments about it, good and bad…but it never reduces my excitement and expectation for the day to come.

The show turned out to be really great for me, the casts, the backdrops, the props, the music. What impressed me is the scene where Raoul and Christine are confessing their love to each other on the roof top singing in duet “All I ask of you”. It feels like you are right at the roof top with them, under the dazzling star night in the Paris city, being touched by their singing till you say a soft sigh owh~~~~~.

All and all, it’s definitely a fantastic show with great music. The only thing to fuss about will be the main actress may be a bit too matured looking to take up the Christine role, if to be cruel. Anyhow, so far, it is the only one show that I will definitely watch it for another time, and may be another time…

Sometimes it is really blessing that we need

Heard a not so good news from a very close friend today, suddenly my heart sank. Although now it has not been confirmed yet, but hearing what she has to go through and the suffer she is bearing now while there is nothing I can do, really tears up my heart.

At times when you can’t do anything to help, it is really blessing that we need. Just hope that everything will be fine for her. Truely wishing that…
